PP&P, Inc. Strives for Excellence in the Marketplace

Precision Polishing & Plating, Inc. of Staples, Minnesota is a company that specializes in providing services primarily to the plastic injection mold and die cast mold industries. These services include the polishing of plastic injection mold components; die cast mold components, extruder die components and coating manifold components. Flash chroming and hard chrome buildup services are also provided.

Additional equipment utilized that sets Precision Polishing & Plating, Inc. apart from others in the polishing industry is the inspection equipment used to check components. This equipment includes: 40 X microscope, 0-18 inch micrometers, linear height gauges with .0001 resolution, .0001 dial indicators, 18" X 24" granite surface plates, 36" X 72" granite surface plate and a Federal surface finish gauge. A digital camera is used to communicate information via the Internet to the customer.

The CEO of the company is Al Kolling. His vast experience in this highly specialized field dates back to 1977, when he graduated from NDSCS at Wahpeton, ND with a degree in Tool & Die, Plastic Injection Moldmaking. Following graduation he received his Tool & Die field training with Wahpeton Canvas Company and Clark Equipment Company, and his Moldmaking field training with 3M Company at both the Wahpeton, ND and Staples, MN sites. He started his polishing career at Precision Polishing, Inc. in May 1992 as the shop manager. In July of 1995 he founded Precision Plating, Inc. to provide one-stop polishing and hard chrome plating services.

Twenty years in the industry and the strong work ethic of his staff and employees were determining factors in purchasing Precision Polishing, Inc. and Precision Plating, Inc. in October 1996 and combining them, forming Precision Polishing & Plating, Inc. He believes this dedication translates into producing finished products that will be hard to match anywhere in the marketplace. Kolling believes the key element to his business is "Quality First". He is confident that his company’s superior workmanship will make his customers feel secure in their decision to use his Minnesota-based company.
